It's not just any Hospital ID badge but a Badge of Honor to Serve
Dear colleagues,
Allow me to take a moment to update everyone on what we have attempted to, and achieved so far in the first few months of 2023, to change the culture, perceptions and environment of this great work place. Physicians are the backbone of any decision making process regarding patient care in any hospital but not always feel much appreciated for their participation and doubts are created as to their intentions and good will. It is my hope that by actively involving and including everyone in any system that we can strive to make a positive change of mutual respect, cooperation, collaboration and create a friendly work environment from the very top to the bottom. I am proud to announce what we as a team have been able to achieve so far:
Launch of the first ever NSH Med Staff newsletter “Physicians Voice” every first Tuesday of each month to connect all physicians.
Launch of the HCAmedstaff.org website which is going to be a valuable resource showcasing our Medical Staff and Northside Hospital and be able to advertise their expertise to community physicians and its neighboring communities.
On May 9th 2023 the first ever Honorary Staff Membership event, after 47 years, honoring 15 of our retired physicians who have contributed immensely to Northside Hospital and its community
Announcement of the Dr Govindan P Nair Memorial Educational Scholarship, a yearly scholarship for a high school senior of any qualified Northside Hospital child of an Employee.
Announcement of the Dr Mark Stine exceptional resident award to collaborate with the GME program for mutually beneficial events and educational programs and a token of appreciation from the medical staff
Celebrating the entire Full time Nursing staff with a beautiful personalized jacket for Nursing week in May 2023
Arranged a Salsa Dancer for nursing week on the taco and salsa event day for nursing staff
Announce a “Go Red for women” organization donation to recognize the contributions they have made towards women’s health and heart disease
PLANS in progress:
Appreciation week to be planned for the entire Housekeeping and Dietary staff at Northside hospital for how they all contribute in patient care. They are instrumental in keeping our house in order and often not appreciated or recognized. (to be announced)
Black tie event for meet and greet for our Medical staff and their families (to be announced)
Physician Gala in Early December 2023 (to be announced)
However, this can’t be done without your support. We are a non-profit 501(c)6 professional organization with limited funds and so need the help of everyone who can donate as well for the greater cause and share any ideas. I encourage participation of your time and efforts. Hopefully we will be able to collaborate with and actively involve the senior hospital leadership team and local businesses to raise funds to give back to the hospital and better serve our community. This is an Opportunity, long overdue for all of us to come together, shed any of our past experiences and begin a new chapter to serve in unity and appreciation of each other with a new leadership.
Please donate to “Northside hospital Medical staff fund Inc”. A 501(c)6 professional organization.
Thank you for your support.
