We humbly ask for your support and vote, as we aim to continue serving the medical staff and advance our shared mission. Over the past two years, we have achieved significant milestones as a team, which I am proud to share:
Strengthening Unity and Communication
Launched a monthly newsletter and established PhysiciansVoice.org, a digital hub designed to enhance collaboration, share advancements, and celebrate achievements within our medical staff. This platform fosters a supportive network within our system.
Fostering Growth and Inclusion
Organized Celebration 2023 and 2024 events, welcoming new honorary members for the first time in five decades and honoring retired physicians with recognition Plaques and engraving their names on the Wall of Honor recognizing their lifelong contributions.
Recognizing Excellence
Established awards and scholarships to honor our fallen physicians and caregivers, such as the Dr. Govindan P. Nair Educational Scholarship, Dr. Tom Mathias Nurse of the Year Award, and Dr. Luis Fernando Critical Care Nurse of the Year Award. These recognitions are prominently displayed on the Wall of Honor.
Promoting Community Engagement
Led impactful initiatives such as World Homeless Day donation drives and contributions to the Homeless Alliance. Recognized individuals for their service to the American Heart Association (Dr Robert Sanchez) and Go Red for Women’s Health ( ex CEO Valerie Powell-Stafford)
Celebrating Caregivers and Medical Staff
Organized appreciation events including National Nurses Week, Honoring our departments with appreciation certificates, Medical staff holiday parties "A Night to Remember in 2023", and the "Thanksgiving Festival of Lights in 2024" Holiday Extravaganza, fostering camaraderie and a culture of unity.
Creating the Medical Staff Wall of Honor
Showcased the accomplishments of retired physicians, physician leaders since 1976 and all caregivers through a digital display and TV screen on the medical staff wall of honor near the medical staff office wall.
Collaboration with GME
Partnered with the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program, for the first time, to initiate a CME lecture series featuring accomplished providers, benefiting both residents and staff.
Ensuring Fiscal Responsibility
Reformed financial policies with our Medical staff Fund, a 501c(6) entity, to eliminate any misuse of medical staff funds and to be only used in the best interest of our members. MEC members now participate without financial incentives, fostering transparency and relevance in decision-making.
Looking ahead, we are excited about initiatives planned for the next two years, including to continue to honor retiring physicians, hosting meet-and-greet and black-tie events, collaborating with sister facilities, improving the systems and committees that govern us and expanding community service projects and all our physicians. I remain committed to promoting fairness, fostering unity, and enhancing systems that serve us all. Together, we can build a stronger, more organized medical staff that benefits our members and the hospital alike.
Your support is vital, and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue representing our medical staff. Feel free to text or call me now or in future for any issues or concerns and I humbly thank you for your support. REMEMBER TO CHECK EMAIL OR TEXT FROM ELECTIONBUDDY.COM
With warm regards,
Dr. Rakesh Mittal, MD, PhD
